The World Entrepreneurs Network grew out of the ground work layed by Robert Felps, the founder, Charley Ayres of the Round Rock Economic Development Partnership and Larry Holt of the Cedar Park Economic Develpment Corporation. Formerly known as the Wilco Entrepreneurs Network (WEN), then expanded to be the Wilco Entrepreneurs Community (WEC), it was re-organized and renamed on October 1, 2011.
Although the focus for assisting entrepreneurs is often networking, support, talent and funding we have found that providing the glue for the community is a key element. We refer to this as C4 – Community, cross-pollination, collaboration, coordination. Our members often refer to the community as a great place that provides "entrepreneurial therapy". Often providing words of encouragement (stop whining and DO IT; yes it's your idea, along with 20 other people in the world - TAKE ACTION), honest feedback (you're full of it; you're clueless), gentle direction (are you sure you want to invest the time to fail?; have you considered NOT starting a business) and other support to fellow entrepreneurs.
We invite anyone interested in networking with entrepreneurs, helping them start or grow their business, working with or for them, or investing in their endeavors to join us on-line and in a local community (chapter). Come join us today!
